OK. I am running windows 2003 enterprise server. IIS 6.0
PHP 5.0.4, MySQL 4.1.12a. I used the windows install for PHP which loaded the PHP-CGI.exe in the IIS application extentions area for PHP. The permissions on all file directories are fine. MySQL is loaded and running fine.

When I try to load XOOPS 2.0.10 it works fine up to the point of Confirm Database Settings then I go to the next page and I get the blank screen of death.
______________________________________________________
When I try to load XOOPS 2.1.1 it works fine until i get to the Save Configuration Screen and it gives me several errors.

File ../mainfile.php overwritten by ../mainfile.dist.php.
Constant XOOPS_ROOT_PATH written to c:/Inetpub/wwwroot/xoops.
Constant XOOPS_URL written to http://mysite.com/xoops.
Constant XOOPS_DB_TYPE written to mysql.
Constant XOOPS_DB_PREFIX written to xoops.
Constant XOOPS_DB_HOST written to localhost.
Constant XOOPS_DB_USER written to root.
Constant XOOPS_DB_PASS written to 1234abcdf.
Constant XOOPS_DB_NAME written to xoopstest.
Failed writing constant 0.
Constant XOOPS_GROUP_ADMIN written to 1.
Constant XOOPS_GROUP_USERS written to 2.
Constant XOOPS_GROUP_ANONYMOUS written to 3.
Failed writing constant 1.

Then as I continue to the confirm database settings everything is ok until I go to the next step and I get this error. Fatal error: MySQL extension not loaded in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\xoops\class\database\mysqldatabase.php on line 71

I have tried everything to figure it out and no luck.

Any ideas?

Ed

Hi

Did you check your file "windows/php.ini" in order to see if the line Quote:
extension=php_mysql.dll
is commented out? You must uncomment it.

Also give a try to copy the file "c:\php\libmysql.dll" to your folder "c:\windows\system32"

I really hope it helps

BTW> that procedure works fo me on XOOPS 2.09x and 2.010 on a Apche server

Don't forget that this is the BETA release of the next version. You may be better using the previous release version.

We will need more information. See this Faq Page for methods of enabling debug mode so we can see the errors in the blank page.

HTH.

Now i get this error

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\xoops\class\database\databasefactory.php line 34

I did not get this error until i reinstalled XOOPS and used persistent connection. I have read and execute permissions to the class directory and the files..

For some reason XOOPS is not able to connect to the database. Either the entries for the database are wrong in mainfile.php or the database is not running.

I reinstalled XOOPS and selected "no" to persistent connections and the error went away. Now I am back to a blank screen with no errors..

Hmmmm.
