Thread solved:
the problem described is a PHP5 version problem. I switched to PHP4 and guestbook is working fine.

I have just installed xf guestbook 2.22 but i have some problem still described in the topic "Suddenly french entries in xtremguestbook" but cannot get a solution.
Install is once made under XAMPP and Windows and once on a live site under Apache (http://cms.rcmarket.net).
1)When editing a message i have following error:'could not update message in the database' and 'undefined variable del_img in file .../xfguestbook/admin/index.php line 218' (call to save procedure).
2)When signing , the message is not written to the database (no error) but the upload image is written to the folder /msg.
I have checked database names and some code but didn't find something; database is ok, listing is ok as i may manually add messages in the database.

Doe's anybody have a fix to enable this module to run under PHP5 as I think this is a great module and i would realy like to use it.
