I believe Indream means the hack I have made for xoops.org where comments are broken into pages.

I always meant to refine it, but just haven't had the time to do so.

It is available from My own site and will require a system module update.

Note that it removes the ability to use threaded or nested comments view.

Talking about the current comment system I've noticed that every comment item showed take up 3 database queries.

EG: 10 comment in a page == 30 queries

It looks like that permission are checked per comment and not per item id (example: news storyid)..
A little heavy, in my opinion.
