Good day to all! I'm new on using CMS, specially XOOPS. I successfully installed XOOPS on my local machine and running smoothly. I've successfully installed a new theme (4whitebusiness theme) and installed some modules (news, headlines, contacts).

My question is:

1.) How to make the news module will show up as default? (i mean, when you browse into my site, the news page will be the default page)

2.) How come I properly installed these modules and I can't see a thing on my site? (When I clicked on the menu, modules that are related to the menu doesn't show up)

3.) I try to change the caption "Your slogan here" into "my own slogan". How come when I try to load it up, I can't see the whole page? and the same when I try to change the logo. (I used Macromedia Dreamweaver to edit the file theme.html...Am I doing wrong?)

This is a TOTAL newbie question. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1.) go to the following site:
http://localhost/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=1

then change the fith setting to the module you want to show up as default

2.) go to the following site:
http://localhost/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin

there you can set the order and activity of the modules you've got installed

3.) don't know what u mean?!? normally you don't have to change the theme.html. you can change your slogan here:

http://localhost/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=1
http://localhost/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=3

Simple answeres do not help the users to learn/understand XOOPS.
