Can I modify Main Menu not to show some of the modules I have installed?

I have installed the Edito module and while I want to have the module active to show the welcome message on the top page, I dont want to show it in the main menu.

Also, I don't want to show a link to the Polls module. I have set up one poll and will change it often and have placed it on the right block. So dont need the link in the Main menu.

How do I go about modifying the main menu in a way that all themes inherit the same?

Help will be truly appreciated.

Yes, go to System Admin - Modules and set the modules that you do not want to show in the main menu to a weight of "0" zero.

another way - would be to also go into the groups section in the system admin.

also in blocks section as well.

Remember, hiding a module from display doesnt mean that it denys people from accessing it if they know the folder name.
