Good afternoon fellow xoopsters. I've been customizing XOOPS for the last few weeks. I have a few bugs i'm trying to work out.

I'm trying to add fields to the registration process & user table in mysql. I'm adding user_phone to the database. Now, i fairly familiar w/ mod hacks for PhpBB but this is my first project w/ Xoops.

I believe i've added the custom field to all of the required pages. But i'm still getting this error "Could not register new user." I've tried it several times making sure i didn't skip over a step and still no luck.

If you could be of any assistance it'd be greatly appreciated!

first off, if you've modified the function insert() in kernel/user.php, turn on MySQL debugging in System -> Preferences -> General Settings and make sure that the problem isn't a sql syntax error. If that yields no possibilities, switch to PHP debugging mode and see if there are any php scripting errors that need to be addressed.

Thank you Ackbarr! I'm looking into that now.. it appears that there is a problem with the sql syntax.
