Can the "sponsored listings" heading be made an option or removed completely from this module ?

Where might I find the code for each "option" I would like to decide which option gets what feature. Is this possible.

sample: option 1 - only gets name and link to website
option 2 - name description and link
etc....

I'll second that--at least as far as changing the options goes! Ideally, one coule set his own options, within reason, but, if they must be hardcoded in, you might want to open up input as to just what each option should be. For me, at least, I'm leaning toward something like this:

1. Name, address, phone, fax, and maybe email

2. Above plus email, if not already included, and link to website

3. Above plus logo

4. Above plus highlight and photos

5. Above plus page sponsor and more photos

or something similar.

I really, really appreciate your work!

JFM

I have used the latest version of the module mxDirectory successfully so much that I have cloned it to have another similar module called Property working on the same site and server. I have encountered only 2 problems which are:
1) the popup window that comes up when you click on the print button the image is broken. I have checked the url link but somehow cannot figure it out.
2) This is more serious. The modify this list link calls for a login, obviously makes great sense, BUT the user once logged in has also access to other links that he can mess about with. Is there a way where permissions would be granted only to the particular listing he only has subscribed to?

Hi all,

Sorry it's been some time since any news from me, I've been under some real-world deadlines which are starting to ease up now.

@newbie & jfmoore
While I can't provide user config options for this version, I have revisited (and corrected some malfunctions with) the options and will more clearly define them in the next release.

I should be able to post the RC1 release this week with bug fixes and some minor additions (more info this week (week of may24th)).

@ Ray,
Both 1 & 2 should be possible without too much trouble...
Re 2: The logged in user can submit an update to any listing, but I have added the owner field in admin to make it easier to see if you (as admin) should approve or not.
The submitted info is held in another table until purged or approved at which point the data is x-ferred to the live table.
We can speak more on this after I get the next release out.

Thanks Tripmon. Excellent job!! I love the "Coupon" and "print"

Sorry if I miss anything, but I have a quick question:

Is there an easy way to add new field(s)to the listing?

like an extra phone number or busines hour...

Thanks again.

Tx xueming,

Sadly, there is no easy way to add fields, but the description will hold whatever you desire to put there.

By the way, I think it's EFQ Directory that kummzy was talking about in case you want to do a search on it (Wtravel is the dev).

Thanks Tripmon!! That would be nice, but I can live without that. Actually, I am using xdirectory on my ste, so your mx-derectory is much better already. thx.

Thanks kumzzy for your help also. I know it will take a while, but I am looking forward for efqdirectory also.

It is so nice to have so many XOOPS developer working on these modules :)
