I need to know what the primary editor used by XOOPS developers is.

I use both dreamweaver and zend studio.
zend studio lacks wysiwyg designing, other than that its perfect for php development. debugging capabilities of zend are very usefull

In Linux (Most of the time):
vi command line editor for on server/on the fly edits
KWrite GUI Text editor for everything else (Think of it as Notepad on steroids)

In Windows (Rare anymore):
Dreamweaver MX '04 for initial layout and mass editing
Notepad for quick edits

There is an extensive FAQ about this HERE which includes a number of editors. I have tried all of these myself, so I can vouch for them. Please add any new material to this FAQ so that other users can benefit
