Hi folks,

I have installed a Xoops.org (runs smooth) and now would like to import 5000+ members from Web-App into Xoops.

Does anyone have experience on this or can point me to some information on importing user-data into XOOPS in general?

What would you suggest to do with the passwords?

Thanks
dushan

It would help to know what web app you need to import from. Some scripts are available, written by users for their needs. Search the forum. For others you may need to compare XOOPS database structure with the apps structure and devise your own script.

Plenty of help here though.

HTH.

what is web-app?

reason you may not find it - hasnt been documented.

exactly what does web-app do?

i also am new to this - and would be interested in the answer...

the way things go - XOOPS is leading edge over all the others.

Well, web-app is another community-software, working with flat-files. I am thinking of migrating to XOOPS - if there was a way!

Yet I would already be glad if someone could tell me, whether there is any documentation on the db-table-structure for users, forum-posts, news into xoops. (Don't feel like simply inserting and then trying to figure out what happens...) I don't want to "throw away" my old site. I cannot believe that ALL Xoops-Communities do have to start from scratch.

I would be glad to write the SQL-Inserts myself (life would be better, off course, if someone had already done it), It just aint realistiv adding 5000+ members by hand!

Hi

I made a script for import from a flat file. Look my answer 2005/3/16 14:38 with link for download the script.

I work for this project and if you send a file sample with description I can realize a other script.

Best regards

(sorry for my poor english)
