So,

I had loaded my XOOPS site in the win server, but i've a little problem when i load modules with change permision chmod.

When this permission are for chmod 777 theare not problem, but when the permision are 666 the modules have a big problem to work.

Is possible working in win this modules with hack for example or don't is possible?

heh? what are u trying to do?

u only set the permission for the folders accordingly, not all folders.

and what do u mean the modules doesn't work? could u explain in detail?

Precisaly i've a problem with a module friendfinder, when i'had download this module a server when don't is possible change a permission this module work very well, but in the server win this don't work,so .. i can't insert a new profile and can't change the preference.

I think that when I see permission issues with a Windows Server box, it seems the problem boils down to NTFS permissions and the built in IUSER account. I would check the settings for this account and see if that is causing problems for you.

Search IUSER and you may find more information on this. I think most troubles are related to making files writable, like mainfile.php and such.

friendfinder will not run properly unless PHP GLOBALS are enabled. Most consider this a security risk.... Perhaps this is your problem?

I think don't understand all but in my file manager permision show this :


User Read Data Write Data Execute File
BUILTIN\Admin y y y
NT AUTHORITY\SYS y y y
name\ASPNET y y y
name\IUSR_xxx y n y
name\xxxx y n y



If i change all in Y (yes) isn't problem i think (chomod 777) but when i must change a permision in file/modules 666 i've a big problem.

I contacting my server desk/house but it can't resolve problem.

And for this reason i think a hack/solution.
