Hi, I have XOOPS running locally on my computer. But I forgot my password, so when I enter my email address to receive it, this is the message I get;

Errors
Could not instantiate mail()
Confirmation Mail for webmaster mailed.

And I donĀ“t get anything.

Anyone has a way around this? Thanks

Hello,

You get this message because you do not have any mail servers installed locally on your machine... things should be fine if you have your code online on a web server with mail server.

Cheers,

run this query in phpmyadmin

UPDATE xoops_users SET pass = '' WHERE uid = 1

that should remove ur pw.. simply then login without entering a pw.. you can then change it back via edit user
