News 1.3 Permissions Problem

Hi,

I just upgraded to News 1.3, and when I try to set group permissions, I have the following problem:

I can only set one set of permission. For example, if I set who can view news articles, I lose my permission settings for who can submit articles, and who can approve articles.

The module only records the last submission. What happens is after I submit a news article, unregistered users try to click on the link off of my home page, and they receive a no access screen, which then refreshes to the actual news article.

I would like Registered & Webmasters to submit, Anonymous to have access to the articles and archives, and webmasters to have all access. Is there a way for me to get around the 3 form permissions window in News 1.3?

Hi,

This problem was caused by the file kernel/groupperm.php, update your XOOPS version or this file

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a beginner with Xoops. Can you point me in the right direction with respect to updating the file?

I replaced the groupperm.php file with one from v. 2.01.09, and I still have the same problem.

Would it be possible to go right to a DB table and change the values there?

You should really update your whole XOOPS version.
