First, I'm having a problem getting changes that I make to show up. For example, I edited the theme file to take out some static links, but those links still remain on the site. Caching is turned off as far as I can tell, but could it possibly still be caching it and showing the old version somehow?

Also, I'd like to modify some of the templates associated with blocks. I go to System Admin->Blocks->Recent News->Edit->Edit Template and all I get is the code with a button to "View". I can make changes, hit view, and the changes look good, but I can't save them. I tried going out and finding the actual file to edit. First, the file didn't look anything like what was displayed under "Edit Template" and second, any change I made to it had no effect on the site.

Am I just going about this all wrong or what?

Thanks for any help!

Cool. I've got the theme change working. I went ahead and cloned the templates so I can edit them. Did the edit and previewed/saved it fine. But now I can't get that change to actually show up on the site.

I went into preferences and changed the default template set to my cloned template set. I also followed the procedure of removing the templates_c directory. The "Update module template .html files" setting in preferences is set to yes. And I'm doing a full refresh of the page with my browser.

Any idea?

Thanks for the help! I appreciate it!

Re: Modding Questions

if you changed the "Update module template .html files" setting in preferences after you had made the change, you'll need to remove all files from the templates_c folder in order to see the changes.

No, I did it before. Plus I removed all the templates_c files anyway, just to be safe.
