Hi!
I recently installed xoops, and I am very happy with it. I tested many different cms's before such as mambo, phpnuke, postnuke, drupal and I can say that I XOOPS is the best one for me. I have some general questions:

The first is a layout question. I want my main page to show the following blocks/modules in this order:
1)Custom block
2)Module
3)Recent forum topics block.
4)Other blocks
However, it seems as if the default behaviour puts the module at the bottom of the page. Is there anyway to change it?

I use the default forum that comes with xoops. Is this the newbb2 module? How can I add the pop up menu at the top of the forum?

Thats all for now!
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome to the community It's good to see you did your research and that XOOPS fits your needs best.

Now your questions:
- the blocktype order is set in the themes/default(or the name of the theme you use)/theme.html file. In there, there are foreach clauses for every blocktype. You will see that the <{$module_content}> is shown last in this. You need to edit the theme.html file to change that order. However, this will mean it is set for all pages on your website. Next, in the system admin -> blocks section, you can set the weight and determine the order of the blocks in each blocktype category.

- the newbb2 module is not the one that comes in the default package. You can get the latest version at the XOOPS Development Forge website.

Hope that helps!

Thanks, you have been really helpful.
I have some more questions, i will be very happy if someone vould help me.
I want ot have a php code highlight feature. I installed the XOOPS2_hack_SyntaxHighlight_Hack_by_FractalizeR.zip hack but it did not work. Is there anyone out there that will work with the latest XOOPS version?
I also want to have search engine friendly urls. I installed a hack (cannt remeber the name) but it did not work either. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike
