Modules as Blocks?

I want to be able to implament a module as a block. For instance, on this page:
http://www.svdv-photography.net/cms/

They have a polls module added as a block right on the page. all I have been able to do is add a module that shows up on the left side of the page. Do I need to edit the template to accomplish this?

In the blocks admin panel you can change the position of this block to right or center right (depending on what you want).

Admin Panel -> blocks

Also make sure the visible is clicked on
