A "Forbidden" error in my admin...please help

When trying to set my general config on my forum, I get a Forbidden error:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /forum/modules/ipboard/admin.php on this server.

------------------------------------------------------------

When I try to change them, it doesn't save my settings; just gives me that annoying error. What should I do?

check that permissions are set right for the folder.

edit* make sure conf_global.php is writable chmod 777

Ok...I tried 777, 755, and 744, and nothing worked.

can u actually get into ipb admin?

if u have a firewall can u try disabling your firewall for a few minutes and try again with the firewall turned off?

just trying to eliminate a few things..

I Dont know if this is related to your problem..

i had .htaccess to deny access to my admin.php files. except for my ip address.

<Files admin.php>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from 68.248
</Files>


so if you had this then maybe your ip address is no longer in the range u specified and you will to add it.

Monty, I can get into my admin, and only General Configuration and Security & Privacy don't save my changes.

I don't think it's the firewall, because we have another IPB board somewhere else, and we can edit everything there to our heart's content.

As to the .htaccess, Bandit, I looked in my files and didn't see an .htaccess.

Thank you all for your help; I hope we can resolve this problem soon!
