Hello

I'm currently running a web site called http://www.publicbeta.org we have decided to move over to xoops, our designer - who incedently has now left us; began our change over to XOOPS before xmas. A large proportion of the XOOPS site has been constructed however we need to upload images, new modules, and launch the new site a.s.a.p

I have little experience in this area and feeling the stress considerably - any assistance would be fantastic!

Please drop me an email if you can help matt@suppose.co.uk

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt

Unfortunately your sweeping cry of help is not going to necessarily be met with someone emailing you to offer help. We have no idea just how much help you need or specifically what area of help you need.

Many of the XOOPS users are busy themselves either with their own sites or XOOPS development. Everyone who uses XOOPS needs to take some responsibility themselves and do some homework. For starters you need to get a personal understanding of how XOOPS works and what you can do to administer your site. For this you need to visit the XOOPS Documentation - linked on the left - and XOOPS FAQ - also linked on the left.

Using the forums you should beign first with doing a search on a specific question - and if you can't find the answer then you need to ask a specific question. Vague 'please helps' will often be overlooked by the very busy helpers here...but if you are specific and can state what you have done to try and resolve a problem more attention will be paid to you.

I hope this will help get you off to a better start and assists you and your organisation with understanding and using xoops.

Hi Matt,

jensclas brings up some very good points there. If you are looking for help free of charge, then by far your best bet is to describe you problems here on these forums in as much details as you can. As jensclas stated, most users here are far too busy with their own sites to go out helping people on a 1 on 1 basis for an entire migration project.

On the otherhand, if you had a developer working on this site it sounds like you migration might actually have a budget. If so, please specify that you are seeking paid help, as there are many very knowledgeable people around here that can offer their services.
