When using IE to view my site, and I click a link to view posts in the forum, it comes up with a window that says:

"Problems with this Web page might prevent it from displaying properly...
Line: 770
Char:40
Error: unterminated string constant
code: 0
url: http://www.webdiscourse.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4&forum=34&post_id=8#forumpost8

The url is for a particlular post, but it seems to do it for all of them. And also when I click on "Edit Profile".

Any ideas?

in your browser, click tools, then click internet options, then click the advanced tab and tick the box that says 'Disable Script Debugging (internet explorer)'

Yeah, I know how to disable the message, but I want to try and fix the problem...

How can I find out what is causing this? The line number changes depending what page it is loading.

Thanks.

Jim

the only thing is, that IE's debugger isn't all that great and u could probably flog a dead horse trying to find an error that isn't actually there.. i'm not saying that there isn't actually an error as there could be, but i've turned on my debugger here and viewed your pages and haven't received any notice about a script error..

so it could be IE's temprementality arising again..

also the debugger works by line number of the page you view when u get the error..

so if u want to try and trace it, view the source of the page you are on and save it as a txt file.. then open it up in your web editor and find that exact line (770) and it should give you some indication of where it's saying there's a problem.. it could be an ad, a theme error, or anything that's actually shown on the page at the time..

Thanks, MOnty. I wish I had another computer to test with. If it didn't show any errors on your side then it is probable just a Microsoft thing as you put it.

Ok, there is something wrong. If you go to my site in IE and then look at the "Rate Thread" drop down menu, the images are all distorted.

If you just look at the site Discussion Forum, all the pictures "Reply" "Quote" "Report" all look big and distorted...

Any ideas on this?
