I have this problem too, sometime the rss feed appears blank.

not sure why, sorry! I usually just give up there and look for a new feed.

ditto on the feed problem. I am running XOOPS 2.0.9.2 with MySQL 4.0. I also have found that locating different feeds is a work around, but it is not the right answer obviously.

I have found that XML files seem to generally work for feeds. When I use the rss or rdf files, I don't seem to get the headlines to appear.

Any help out there???

Thanks!

Well...
I had similar problems with rtvslo feeds.
AFAIK my problem is PHP related. After unsuccessfully hacking XOOPS XML & RSS files, this is what i got from PHP manual:

--- CUT ---
Source encoding is done when an XML document is parsed. Upon creating an XML parser, a source encoding can be specified (this encoding can not be changed later in the XML parser's lifetime). The supported source encodings are ISO-8859-1, US-ASCII and UTF-8. The former two are single-byte encodings, which means that each character is represented by a single byte. UTF-8 can encode characters composed by a variable number of bits (up to 21) in one to four bytes. The default source encoding used by PHP is ISO-8859-1.
--- CUT ---

I should have RTFM first...

V.,

Thanks for the cut from the manual. So, what actually solved your problem with headline feeds? Did you change the encoding in the feed setup? I am very interested in knowing what you did to take care of the issue.

Or, are you suggesting we are simply SOL and can't get some of these feeds?

Thanks!

Sorry for delay...
I poked around xoopsheadline code. No luck.

And today I found xhld. Works like a charm.
There's new version 2.94a at:
