Adding Links to the Footer

Hello all,

Can someone advise me on what I need to do to add links like "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Policy" etc

Q: How do I add this to the footer?
Q: Where do I add the files it links to?
Q: What format can the files be in? (text, word)

Q: How do I add this to the footer?
A: Go to system admin, meta tags and footer settings. Edit the footer text there. You can add HTML links.

Q: Where do I add the files it links to?
A: Anywhere on the werver will do. Here on XOOPS.org we have them linked to pages in the wf-channel module.

Q: What format can the files be in? (text, word)
A: Try the wf-channel module, or HTML files. Word and .txt will not work properly on a webpage.

NOTE: in the footer text doesn't show rihgt, make sure that your themes/themename/theme.html file contains the <{$xoops_footer}> tag where the footer text should go.

I have looked at:

But when I go to the "Admin" section I do not have a "Meta Tags" link in there or you talking about the files on the server?

System admin, Preferences, Meta Tags and Footer [Edit], click the 'edit'link.

Hi there I have gone her done this before and STILL I have on the footer "Powered by XOOPS 2.0.9.2 © 2001-2003 The XOOPS Project" and I have changed it to what I want it to say but no go. What next.

In other words: replace the text you see on the screen with <{$xoops_footer}> and you're set to go!

Hi Herko,
I'm still having problems shorting this. Firtsly I do not have a "themename" file. How ever in the default folder I have a gif log that reads "Powered by xoops..." also in there there is a "theme.html" file.

I have changed the footer to read what I want it to say here "System admin, Preferences, Meta Tags and Footer" but it still will not change.

I have seen and read the previous 3 messages, yes

I should have been more clear perhaps, the themename is the name of the theme that is currently active. So, for example, the full path to the file you need to edit would be /themes/default/theme.html. That is, *if* you have selected the default theme to be the current active theme in the system admin -> preferences -> general settings page. If you have another theme set as your active one, for instance the X2T theme, the path will be:
/themes/x2t/theme.html.
