HOME BUTTON NOT WORKING

Hi All,
When I click on the "Home" button in the main menu via the frount page or the admin page it dose NOT take me back to the Home page. All the link says is http://XXXXX/ as when I go to my home page it reads http://xxxxx/index.php

I have looked in the index.php file but can not see where to add the ext to and should it be in the index.php file?

Where do I need to go and what do I need to do to correct this?

it should not need the index.php link, that's what they're called index files for. Make sure you don't have an index.htm(l) file in your website root, if you do, rename or delete it.
