Hi All,
im new to XOOPS and quite confuse how html files located in /modules//templates works....
which one should be created first, the template files or the php files for the template files?
please help me clarify these confusing things...m planning to create a site but i really don't know whats the relationship between html files in templates folder and module's php files...

your help is greatly appreciated guys...

I guess in short the PHP files retrieve information from the database for display, the templates are the HTML files that govern the structure that the information is displayed.

so, is it possible that i can work with the templates w/o any coordination with the person writing the php file for the said template?

What exactly are you trying to do with the templates. You can edit templates if needed, you need to clone them first though.

Xoops is a module based CMS. Most content is entered through modules.

A little more information would be helpful to see what you need and are trying to accomplish.

we are writing a module and i am assigned to convert the html files given by our client.these html files contains the pictures and texts and overall design. at this point, these html files are static, we want them to be dynamic...my problem is, i am confused on how to convert these html files into html templates...

i hope that u figured out what really my point is...

Someone else will have to give you the finer points, but the template files would have to be listed in the xoops_version.php that is included with each module. Of course the template files are usually located in the template folder in the specific module directory.
