Hi all.

I have installed the News 1.3 RC2 on two sites and had big issues with one and not the other even though both sites are running the same server and XOOPS setup.

I have posted the bug here

http://www.SpoilerCar.com was usccessfully upgraded to NEWS
1.3 RC2 and has no bugs.

But...

http://www.DesktopOS.com was upgraded to NEWS 1.3 RC2 and has
a bug where I can not edit or approve any news
items/articles.

I get a page that says 'edit article' and thats all,
it's a blank page with the rest of the formatting from
the site missing.

I have re-uploaded the files to the server in case
something went wrong the firest time, this did not help.

I have run the upgrade scripts a few extra times & that
did not help.

I have de-activated & then re-activated the module &
that did not help.

I deleted all the permissions from the SQL database then
re-built them but that did'nt help.

I deleted the files for the module then re-uploaded them and
this did not help either.

I de-actitaed the n re-activated the module and still no go...

Can anyone help?

Oh I forgot to say that normal users of the site can submit.

But the Webmater cannot, if I go to http://www.desktopos.com/modules/news/submit.php I get a blank white page.

I turn debug on & get the following error message when going to edit a news item:

Fatal errorAllowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytesin /home/webadmin/desktopos.com/html/kernel/object.php on line 175
Notice
[PHP]: Undefined indexfragment in file modules/statistics/include/hitcounter.php line 68

So I Deleted then re-uploaded 'kernel/object.php' but that did not help.

Any idea's anyone?

Below is the error message I get when clicking on Submit in news 1.3RC2:

Fatal errorAllowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 43 bytesin /home/webadmin/desktopos.com/html/kernel/object.php on line 175
Notice
[PHP]: Undefined indexquery in file modules/statistics/include/hitcounter.php line 64
Notice
[PHP]: Undefined indexfragment in file modules/statistics/include/hitcounter.php line 68

I have re-uploaded the statistics/include/hitcounter.php file too.

I have de-activated the statistics to see if this helps, it does not.

It seams to me this is something to do with permissions, because it's only the Webmater who cannot use this function of the site, normal registered users can use submit.php to submit news...

BTW, thanks for the link about blank pages...

I uninstalled the states module incase that was causing the issue and the problem is ongoing.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 45 bytes) in /home/webadmin/desktopos.com/html/kernel/object.php on line 175

I fixed the bug somehow.

I overwrited the files on the server again for the news module then run the upgrade script again and now it works. Might be because I uninstalled the stats module due to the errors it was producing in the debug.
