I finally figured out how to make a little message block at the top of the homepage by making a custom block..
The only problem I am having is that it does not actually move the table to the top, there's a space of about 100px between te top and the start of the new block..

Is there anyway I can fix this? It seems to happen no matter which page I place it on, none or news, it always leaves that space..

Am I maybe using the wrong thing?
Isn't there a way I can put text in the space that is available in the NONE page? It shows the site name & description with an empty space... this space would be perfect to use..

any ideas??

I'd say you have a problem with your html... but

You might consider posting your custom block html here so we can look and help.

Alright, I've been busy with some other projects, so I didn't have any time to work on the XOOPS site..

I have looked into the problem, but I can't figure out where this HTML is you are referring to.. I used the standard XOOPS option to add a custom block and just typed in some text..

If you want to see what I mean check it out HERE.

I've also tried making my own module, but somehow it does not show up in the "Module for your startpage" ddlb..

I don't understand why there is no module which easily facilitates this behaviour, since most websites for companies rely on having a static mainpage with information about the company.. I have tried Enterprise-X but it is swamped with "commercials" for the maker and the name of the script, something I would rather not have on the site of course..

i have found part of the problem it seems..

xoops is actually outputting tables for the center left & right blocks, eventhough they are empty..

shouldn't it ignore these?
i'm guessing i change the settings in our theme.html and _theme.html?

i just opened the outputted page to dreamweaver and found an emptry table at the top.. but i have no idea how to get rid of it, there seems to be nothing in the module or block config which would result in this error..

at least i'm getting the hang of this cms more and more..
still seems like the best one out there imho..
