I am a voluntary translator at Google. I appreciate the platform for the voluntary translators to translate the site content into many other languages.

At this moment, XOOPS has been translated into a number of languages, but is it possible for the webmaster to open the translation of the site content to the voluntray translators just like that in Google?

Carnuke, here is more information about this, and I am trying to apply the idea to xoops.

For web sites with more than one lang., it is undoubtedly that all the words should be translated to the required lang..

Can a module extract all strings of words, sentences, paragraph, etc. and list them for the registered translators to translate? There is no obligation for the translators to translate how many amounts, but the only thing they should be bound by is the loyalty and accuracy of the translated words, according to the agreement.

In Google, the percentage progress of each lang. is shown to provide to the intended and the registered translators.

I am still somewhat uncertain about what you are asking here:

Xoops core

installation comes with some language files as you may know these files acn be translated into any language you want, depending on available character encoding.

Xoops modules

Likewise, each module has a language file/s that may be translated.

In both cases the language definitions are separate from the software opertion of the scripts, so you are not translating hard coded words within the code itself, only the language files.

Look under the language folder of the XOOPS core files, or any module. In this you will find sub-dirs of any languages and the asociated files within.

I still think I've missed the ponit here??

Oh! I know what you don't understand. I am talking about the translation of the content of the site, not the framework of the site as you said the core and the modules. The content of the site is unique and is done by the webmaster after the establishment of the site.

One more example just like that in this site, there are a lot of articles, descriptions, documentations, strings of sentences and more. All of these are unique and produced after the establishment of the sites. If the webmaster would like to open the translation of these to the public, and allow them to translate how many the volunteers want, the module I suggested could accompolish this purpose.
