I would like to allow people to add comments to other members profile page.

This is an idea well established in community sites such as friendster, myspace and more.

The main idea is for people to build a good feedback about themselves and more.

A ranking feature might be fun to through in there as well.

what would be the best way to go about this? I know XOOPS is very comment oriented.

Currently this is not a core feature, nor is it likely to be supported in imminant releases. However, as an alternative, Solo71 is developing a new module called Myedito that allows users to create their own personal pages.

The module also allows a certain amount of templating that could include details about the user etc. Each edito can also be commented as you request.

There is a thread going on the forums right now about MyEdito, icluding a demo online.
