I have gone through the installation fine and the final page comes up that it has installed the following tables:

Table xoops_groups created
Table xoops_groups_users_link created
Table xoops_groups_modules_link created
Table xoops_banner created
Table xoops_bannerclient created
Table xoops_bannerfinish created
Table xoops_metafooter created
Table xoops_modules created
Table xoops_newblocks created
Table xoops_priv_msgs created
Table xoops_ranks created
Table xoops_session created
Table xoops_smiles created
Table xoops_users created
Table xoops_groups_blocks_link created
Table xoops_stories created
Table xoops_topics created
Table xoops_comments created

From here i click to see my site and it loads a blank page??? What can i be doing wrong - there are completely no errors on the install and it finds the database fine!

Looking at the tables it created - it doesnt look like many compared to that of my old XOOPS installation on with my old web hosting company.

I am so stuck on this and have speant many hours trying configuring this out! Can anybody shed any light on this for me.

The template.c dir is write enabled?

I dont want to sound stupid, but where can i find the template.c dir?

Also if i change this - will i need to reinstall and connect up to the db again to create the tables?

Instead of shooting at shadows and looking for non-existing directories (the name of the dir is templates_c) you should take a look at the FAQ section. At the front page, there is a link to how to enable debug settings so you can get an actual error message to work from.
