What are supposed to do the files spotlight2.1.zip or xoops2-mod_spotlight_v1_4_spark_and_solo.zip? Which is better? The News 1.3 RC2 includes it?

most of the modules have the spotlight block included now (AMS, news, etc.). you might not need the spotlight module anymore then.

for the spotlight module itself, if i'm not mistaken, the latest release is 2.2 (search for it through the search box, you should find it reysolar).
