thought i'd inform you as there's been lots of requests..

Q1) m0nty, are you maintaining/supporting this version of x-phpBB. 'cos support for the last version seemed a lot thinner than it was for IPB?.

Q2) IPB for Xoops, $20? Is this for IPB 2.0?

1. no, i don't know enough about phpbb to offer any support for it, koudanshi does the main support and programming on both modules. it is a shame more members don't try and get involved more with supporting others tho as there only seems to be a few that help with phpbb.

Koudanshi is back now as he has completed his exams so hopefully he'll be able to offer more support than in the previous few months.. :)

2. yes the fee is only for IPB v2, version 1.4 (or any versions after that use ipb 1.3.1 core) will continue to be free of charge..

Thx m0nty. I hope the developer can help everyone by keeping this version patched and supported. If more people feel confident to use it, you're going to get more input from users in the forums. Plus... it's worth it to spend a few moments over at bbpixel.com with digital girl.

...and, for those that might not know, this version supercedes the versions that were vulnerable to the Santy worm that caused havoc over Christmas. So, it's a significant upgrade.

it is indeed a great news. i do think phpbb is a great alternative for newbb (and ipb).

i do agree with you peekay, hopefully koudanzhi can support this product so it can pull a lot of people using this product, and hopefully at the end more people can contribute back to support the product.. i do hope in the future i can give my contribution too, my 0 knowledge on programming limits my capability to support, i'm learning though, i'm learning...

and ah.. it's the digi girl that apparently has drawn you guys keep coming back to bbpixels

btw, any of you manage to get the new x-phpbb 1.23 work in your XOOPS 2.0.9.2?

i experience the following problems:
1) the XOOPS admin screen font size become bigger (the look become cumbersome), after the installation
2) accessing the phpbb module, give me the following error messange:

Sorry Karedokx. I downloaded the IPB mod a few days before this announcement and I'm going to have a go with that first. If all your other PHP apps function properly except this one, I guess it's time to put Koudanshi's support to the test? I would be interested to see how you get on.
