Hope this isn't a completely dumb question. A little dumb I can live with:

I have installed a modified module template html file, and I can't get the darn thing to update. I set the Admin/Prefs update to "yes", went to the Admin/Templates page and clicked "Generate" for the module, and cleared the cache on the browser, but I am still getting the old page.

Just what are the magic words, anyway?

Edited with cPanel. The changes are there - I checked. I'm using a cloned template, and the module is xDirectory.

cpanel of xoops? it should update if u either copy/paste into the template via XOOPS admin or upload it via XOOPS admin..

but if the changes are made.. and they are showing.. empty the templates_c folder on ur server..

cPanel as in WHM/cPanel. I emptied the templates_c folder in my XOOPS directory, but that didn't help. This is confusing.

I even deleted the dadgum file, and it (the old version) is still showing up. I think I need to call an exorcist. Know a good one?

ok so ur editing them on the server from the modules folder? (i'd advise against that in case something goes wrong)

clone ur default template set.. and then in XOOPS admin/templates click list for that module, then find the template u want to edit and click edit.. you'll then see the template.. make ur changes and hit submit..

and ur changes should be instantly noticable..

if u edit the templates on the server itself you will need to goto XOOPS admin/modules and then click the update module icon for the module u have edited..

Thanks!!! That did it. Everytime I get to thinking I know a little something about Xoops, I find 10 things that I don't have a clue about.

Glad you were hanging around this late. Now I can go to bed with a clear mind.
