I wanted to toss this idea for a module out to the XOOPS community before I developed it any further. I don’t have any real programming skills so I am looking for someone ( or a team) who is willing and able to takes these ideas and create a real, stable & functioning module. It’s not a particularly complex module, I just lack the programming skills to make it myself. :)
I have the ideas sketched out on some notebook paper. The notes include logic flow, and interface designs. Before I commit more time to translating these notes to a more readable format (mock-up in HTML), I would like to know if there is enough interest in a module such as this to warrant further development.
The Timeline ModuleDescriptionThis module would allow for an easy-to-use historical timeline to be displayed. The user could view and entire timeline, sort & display by particular subject, search for a keyword(s), search before/after a specific date, or search within a user-specified time period.
The timeline would be displayed in a simple text format in a table with dates, event description and subject listed. A timeline like this allows for the user to narrow their focus on a particular area of study from a larger more complete & comprehensive timeline and create a custom timeline for their studies.
Possible users of this moduleAny site that has a need to record & document important dates and events that may need to be refered to later.
Here is a link to the kind of site that would be able to use this module:

If you guys and gals think this module would be something you could either use or would like to develop, please let me know here in this thread. I can go into more detail if there is enough interest. Personally, I could use this module, but it’s not a life-or-death situation. If there is enough need for this module and someone is willing to make it a reality, I’d like to know so we can get the ball rolling.
Like I said before, I don’t think it’s a particularly complex module, I just don’t have the time, or experience to build it.
I'm looking forward to your thoughts and comments.
