I use another CMS for which endless login and session problems have been caused due to the difference in the way MySQL 4.1 handles the timestamp. If my host *upgrades* from 3.3n to 4.1 will my existing XOOPS (2.0.9.2) still work?

I would appreciate some clarification from the XOOPS dev team on this one. Don't want any unpleasant surprises if my host upgrades later this year!

whilst i'm not 100% sure about the issue mentioned, i would say you'll be ok.. u cud empty the session table after the upgrade which will allow a new session to be created..

Download your site to your local pc and give it a testrun with MySQL 4.x

Xampp is available with php 4/5 and maysql 4.1.x now.

Thanks for the link to XAMP bender. I do plan to replicate a MySQL 4.1 / PHP 5 setup locally, I'm just hoping one of the XOOPS core team can confirm that the timestamp is, or isn't an issue to worry about.
