Like make sure of all of this:

I thought I had done everything, but maybe not

How do I

"Update the newbb templates"

??

As I think I might have missed that bit

You go into the template section of the admin, delete the newbb templates and regenerate them.

HTH.

We can fix it without reinstall, I just think we missed something.

In system admin, I only seem to be able to view or download templates

(BTW they are the default template set)

So how do I delete & regenerate the little buggers :)

Clone the template set first.

Them default buggers are hard to delete.

I always work off the clone so I can change things as needed.

Also go into prefferences general settings and set it temporarily to update themes and templates. Don't need anything cached at the moment.

Double check your group permissions also.
