Hi,
I would like to use the news module as default but without showing the 'modules/news/' line on the url.

For example:
My if my site is "http://mydomain.com" it defaults to "http://mydomain.com/modules/news" but I want it to be just the plain "http://mydomain.com" (like xoops.org home page, for example.

How do I accomplish this? I tried several ways even using spotlight (which does not work well with XOOPS 2.0.9...

I really need the news module to be the front page.

Thanks for any responses.

Yes I have the latest XOOPS version. I am not really sure about the version of spotlight you are using but mine gives me a blank page if I activate the module and fire up the web page to "mydomain.com". In the preferences menu, I cannot choose 'spotlight' as the default module to load...

Could you tell me how it was done in your case? XOOPS version of spotlight is 1.4 right?

Humm, thanks for your response but after trying this module it does not give me the right appearance (for now) I want to achieve (I need to spend more time playing with the different configurations)

What I did at this point is to copy the html source of /modules/news as 'index/html' to the root directory of apache and it gives me what I am looking for without the trailing '/modules/news' on the url. The caveat is that I will have to do this every time I update the news modules with another article. But it just takes a simple replacement of the 'index.html' file. Just a few more seconds of work...

Try to make an own block that will show news ... and put it on the first page on the center. Maybe you can do it ...
