General question here.

I have a fedora core 3 server setup at home for testing my XOOPS installs. I have set permissions on the mainfile and folders, and I see those permissions correctly through my FTP proggy. Yet when I try to install I still get the files and folders don't have the correct permissions.

This happens both on 7.3 and 9.2, so there must be something wrong somewhere between the server and my pc. Anyone have any ideas to troubleshoot? I'm out of them myself...

Thanks

are the permissions set right for the actual owner of the files..

maybe the script is using a different user group etc and that group doesn't have the necessary server permissions.. i'm not a server guru, so my explanation may not be clear..
