Is there a module that turns, say, the News module into an rss channel that can be picked up by rss aggregators?

Already built into Xoops.

Type http://your url/backend.php

And there is your RSS 2.0 feed.

Yes, well, I've downloaded and installed rssfit. It lists my news module as "activated" -- but what next? Does it do something that http://yoururl/backend.php doesn't?
