Hey again,

I am just wondering. I have noticed that during the setup of XOOPS I was asked to provide a virtual path (URL to my site 'http://www.blahblah.com').
How ever I run my sites and server locally and use a modem router. This setup does not allow loop back (basically i cannot view http://www.mysite.com from a local machine) I have to instead view it as http://serverip/name . How could I manipulate the virtual path so that instead of it switching pages via means of the full url that it would instead change pages within the directory so that I may view the site locally.

All the best Tom.

you can simply put http://serverip/name/ as a virtual path..

Hey,

Cheers for getting back to me so soon. I started thinking the same thing, but surely if i do that then when people come to view the site it will try and open a page with the ip i had entered (the ip in question being a network ip and not my web ip).
Either way I think i am going to lose.

Are there any other possible solutions ?

All the best Tom.

You've to edit both path... virtual and physical.

Hey SMD,

Ok. What exactly would I have to enter in each field ?
EG. at the moment each reads as follows

physical c:/programe files/apache2......./xoops
Virtual http://www.mysite.com

What exactly would I enter in each field.
My server name is blackhawk (just incase it is required)

All the best Tom.

physical = c:\program files\apache2...\xoops
virtual = http://localhost/xoops
