Morning all,

Well looking round again I can see a few threads about hosts and so forth.
I host with Lnthost.com , their hosting has been absolutely great. I have been with them for some months now. I have had a couple of minor issues, but am please to announce that these were resolved in next to no time at all.

Grabbing some of the basic details across from their site a typical package has;

Unlimited emails
Unlimited MySQL db's
Unlimited addon domains
Unlimited subdomains
Unlimited mail forwarders
Unlimited autoresponders
Unlimited mailing lists

Fantastico, cPanel and a load of other stuff that would take me a while to list.

If you decide to sign up please do me one favour though and when it asks you how you heard about them please choose other and put
"xoops:Blackhawk1"
I do get a little for referring people but all is fair.

Hi,

I have just had a look at their site. If I am completely honest, I am not exactly drawn to them. Mainly because they dont seem to have any clear structure for pricing or exactly what they offer.
If you are looking for a host who offers XOOPS where you do not need to know the ins and outs of php then why not take a look at www.lnthost.com . With fantastico on their cPanel XOOPS is installed in a matter of seconds and hosted in less. I have been hosting here for some time and have never had any problems with them.

Hope this helps,

Blackhawk.

carnuke, errr the problem is (as im sure you are well aware) the weblog I am using is generated within XOOPS and therefore only has an index.php page. Including html is not a problem as I have solved that one with something else I am displaying on my site.
However I do not seem to be able to include the php index page into a module. On the other hand it could be that the page is blank and empty but the likely hood of this is slim as i have tried using the proper link from within the main menu which does not give no results either.
I do believe there will be a solution for this little problem, it is just a matter of touching upon the correct faq file.

All the best Tom.

Hey Carnuke,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I am not one for iframes. They pose too many problems and more often than not do not function as they should.
I was trying to use php includes to display the content within a block but I am not certain that this is possible :(
If there are any other pointers you could give me I would be grateful.

All he best Tom.

Hey all,

I have been dwelling a lot on how to make my new xoopy site appear to any visitors. I have finally managed to iron out a few link problems and am on my way.
However I am currently using a weblog and I am wanting to make a custom block which will display the newly added blog entries on the home page.
How would I do this ?
The blog details are as follows;

Name
weBLog
Version
1.1

Description
weBLogging/Journal system

Author
Jeremy Cowgar

wellwine

All the best Tom.

Hey Seaman,
Firstly, Where exactly are you trying to install xoops?
Are you trying to install it on your computer. If so have you got MySql installed as well as php.
As for your other questions there is a very handy visual guide that you can download with walks you thru the setup process step by step.
Installation Guide for xoops.
Hope this helps.

All the best Tom.

Hey Musicman,

I too am in your situation. Unfortunately I am still trying to find the best way to display and format my xoops. And as mentioned before I too have a lot of copying and pasting to do. However, you mentioned that you do not currently use a cms. This either means that you are using static html pages or have decided to save then as either asp or php. If they do end up being html there is a module that will allow you to import html pages to be displayed inside of the main content area of xoops. I am currently in the process of starting this. Just give me a shout if you want to know the name of the module and you shall have.
PS as mentioned before, Welcome to Xoops. Youll love it
