ewonline,

I agree, like everyone else, that XOOPS could use some optimization. But you seem to want it yesterday.

Let me clue you in on a little something... There are very few people working on XOOPS core and their primary concerns are security and stability. That's not to say they don't care about speed and usability, but things have to be prioritized.

If you believe you can help make XOOPS faster, by all means submit your code. Otherwise, give it a rest!

Constructive criticism and suggestions are more than welcome here. However, endless complaining serves no other purpose than to increase your post count. Eventually, you will alienate everyone and you'll have nobody to turn to when you really need help. Besides, you're only making yourself look like an idiot.

I hate to be harsh, but this is getting ridiculous.

One last feature suggestion for a little while
I need a hack or something of some kind that remembers a users username in a cookie. So the next time they visit the site, the dont need to type the username to login, just enter their password.

Its much like that option in their profile where they can have their username remembered, but I want this to be automatic for everyone.

Perhaps this can be a admin option in the next release of xoops? That would be great

From my experience, XOOPS is fast enough, but newBB is NOT fast enough. Many of you who are thinking that XOOPS is slow are probably experiencing what the rest of us are -- ridiculously stupid slowdowns in the bb module.

The XOOPS developers should take this seriously, because 1 badly written (but highly used) module is giving many people the impression that XOOPS is horribly slow.

I have a new suggestion for XOOPS Developers
AND NO, ITS NOT ABOUT SPEED
SO DONT CRITICIZE ME

How about like http://www.xoops.org/modules/news/index.php/article/37
instead of like id=37
Just thought it looks more asthetically pleasing
And of course, my old suggestion, how about http://www.xoops.org/n/news instead of http://www.xoops.org/modules/news/
Make a option to be able to change the modules dir name?

Those things would be appreciated.
