I am new at this, and I am in the process of developing a XOOPS module. I have to admit, it's much more complicated than I thought it would be. After looking at all the required files, directories, and required properties for the "version" file, i thought...
Wouldn't it be nice if there was some kind of visual editor for modules, where you could see all of the properties of the module listed, and then you could modify them in a way similar to Visual Basic. You click on a block, you can modify the code, as well as the properties. You click on a module, you can modify the version, the associated picture file etc. Maybe even have a module building "wizard" which asks you a few questions, and helps you build the module
Also, the language files could be modified in this way. It would make things a lot easier...
Is there any movement towards something like this? It should be something built into the editor.
I like xoops, but the more easier you make it, the more people will program for it.
