how do i center the pictures generated by the xcgallery scrolling thumbnails block?

I noticed that the scrolling thumbnails in the scrolling thumbnails block are aligned left and i want them aligned center. I've tried editing the block and adding either
or
tags, tried both, it didn't work. i also tried a 3 collumn table where the original block code was part of the center and it seems that the entire table came before the content (pushing the content right). but i'm looking to center it... what gives and how do i fix it?
