I want to "ghost" XOOPS so I can put it on my server at home and mess with it without messsing with the live version. The problem is the easiest way to do this is the cpanel backup. However I have no way to restore the cpanel backup at home since I don't have cpanel. Are there any applications/scripts/etc that can setup a cpanel backup? Or is there another options I should use?

thanks,

Cpanel just saves the database backup as a .sql file doesn't it (don't use Cpanel myself)? If that is the case you could just use something like PHPMyAdmin.

no, the full back up backs up files, server settings (sort of), mysql, etc.
