I have sqmail installed and configured accoring the direction given into the readme file.

I try to make an imap connection to localhost, login. I don't know why but login was always unsuccesfull (username or password incorrect) . I can connect to that imap server with other mail clients like kmail and mozilla.

The server is a courier imapserver on a debian box with a firewall installed. Connection to localhost are permitted.

Should I do something more with the configfile?

do you have php compiled with imap support? create a new file in the root of your XOOPS website and put the following code in:

Then fire open a webbrowser and request the newly created script. Check if php was compiled -with-imap. If not, you'll need to compile or get a version of php with imap support compiled in. Not that familiar with debian, but it might be as simple as:

It has something to do with authentication.
