I may have banged up my installation of xoops, but it is working now. The problem I have is when you go to my website (so far, just http://localhost/xoops) I get an index of XOOPS folder, not the index.php page opening up to my site.

Obviously I don't want webusers going to my site once its up, and seeing a list of my files instead of my website.

How can I fix this?

I tried searching for a fix for this, but didn't even know what exactly to search for.

Thanks

Jerry

Hi Jerry, what webserver are you using?

Doh! I'm an IIS user, so unfortunately won't be able to help you there. Hopefully someone else should pick upon your thread. However, I'd say that it sounds very much like a webserver config issue, so I'd suggest getting stuck into the user documentation if you are wanting a speedier turn around.

when I do go to 'mywebsite' (ie http://localhost/), it opens up the index.html file. For some reason, at http://localhost/xoops/ it will not open up index.php

I will look further into it and solict others who may have an idea.

Thanks for the help

Jerry

Thanks for the help brash, I looked into the various conf files, and I found the problem. In case there are others out there, here is the fix.

In your config file httpd.conf you will see the following:

IfModule mod_dir.c

DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.shtml index.cgi index.php
/IfModule

Make sure to add index.php at the end.

(This is for apache)

you must add "DirectoryIndex index.php" to your apache's httd.conf
