I have added a custom block to XOOPS and named it "welcome". I also set the Welcome block to center on the top_page, so it become part of the main page (home).

I am having difficulty understanding why the Blocks Administration \ Edit Block page will not format the text..ie

[bHello[/b] or [h1]hello[/h1].

I was hoping (or thinking) to use html/css code to format the text in the Welcome Block.

What am I missing ??

if you want to use bbcode to style your block, you can leave it on auto-format. If you want to use HTML in your block, switch it to HTML format.

Thanks,

I was able to get the bbcode to work, but not the HTML. Working with HTML, does this require an HTML or PHP wrapper module ?

when creating your custom block, are you changing the "Block Format" setting?

I don't recall a "block format" setting when I first created it. Is there a means to look at this after-the-fact ?

I did not see anything like "Block Formatting" on the edit page.

I just discovered this. When making a new block there is a setting for the content (Content: tables, links, bbcode, php), if it is html then use html setting, if it's php use php setting, and I'm assuming bbcode or mixed elements use autoformat.

Everyone,

It's been a while but I back to say thanks. I finally screwed my head on and figured out what I was doing wrong.

Posting HTML is working... and probably always was

Thanks for your help.
