How do I make news show up on my main page? with XOOPS2?

Hi,
I am new with XOOPS and I am having troubles configuring it to meet my clan sites needs.
team-epidemic.com
I wanted to make it so my news shows up on the main page.
I was also wondering how to turn notifications completely off for every user and just make them dissapear.
If you could give me examples of what files or code to edit I would greatly appreciate it.

for 1st question... go to admin menu -> system -> preferences -> edit general setting -> Module for your start page = News

2nd question.. do mean news nofication? go to news -> preferences -> Enable Notification = Disable.. you can disable it there..
