Admin menu: menu.php

I just dont know why but any changes on menu.php in modules/mymodul/admin/menu.php are not taking effect. but why?
i have to reinstal it before i can see the changes.

another thing: i have my languagedefinations in languages/german/admin.php but the are not recognized. why? in the popup i can only see the definitions.

1. You will need to update your module (or is it the system module? can't seem to remember) to see changes in menu.php carry over to the actual menu

2. Language definitions for the popup menu should be in modinfo.php

this is because the changes in menu.php are not added to the popup menus until a:

module is added
module is updated
module is deleted

2: language definitions for the popup menu need to go with the rest of the module info constants (modinfo.php)
