Hi there,

I am thoroughly impressed with Xoops! The install was going fine until I hit a snag with the following:
=====
check database
Could not connect to the database server.

Please check the database server and its configuration.
=====

I went through the normal install (my web hosting provider already the Installatron feature that allowed me to install XOOPS onto my website.). Then went to configure via the configuration file and that is where came into the problem with the above statement.

All was fine up until then. Everything was "green".

If anyone could post a reply to possibly help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance.

Joel

the fatastica which has the XOOPS script on my host will totally install the software and does not need to configure. What do you mean configuration? I think the script on your server may be in error. Perhaps check mainfile.php and make sure the database name in that matches the database name in myphpadmin.
