Just a quick question in regards to upgrading XOOPS and the new forum. I have currently XOOPS 2.0.7.1 I have been told that since i have installed newbb 2.0 RC2 before upgrading to 2.0.7.3 that I may have broken the series and will not be able to upgrade to any further XOOPS versions! Is this true? I was told that because the forum will end up having different database names is it possible after the upgrade i could change the name in the database and if i can how do i go about doing it.

thanks in advance

Not sure what the answer to your question will be, but at least one option is to revert to your old newbb setup, assuming you have a backup of your files and your database. It is, at least, an option...

I would doubt this, but can't say for 100% sure. Modules should not effect the core XOOPS upgrade path, and I'm pretty sure that NewBB 2 does not include any core hacks.

The newbb 2.0 is an official Module so the Tables sure will change, but only to add more fields create new tables which are needed delete not needed Tables, thats all.

The newbb 2.0 is a Module and use nearly only Core Functions, but didn´t change any off them, this should be obvious for any Module, makes your live with updates easier and you are more protect, because update to 2.0.7.3 is a security update to gives you protections.

So back to your questions, this is nonsence what you have heared. Not core files will be touch, changed, delete or what else. Updating after installing the newbb 2.0 to XOOPS 2.0.7.3 or to further Versions is no problem.
