Using Firefox - debaser, instead of displaying the audio play component, displays "download" with a link instead. Do I need to download something for Firefox or is this a debaser issue?

Thanks,

Gnik

Sniff - not always debaser is to blame!

What kind of plugins are installed with your Firefox?

If Firefox does not understand the player code, then only the download-link will be displayed.

But I promise you, that in the next version of debaser it is getting more complicated...

Functionality for displaying/playing ANY multimedia file is nearly fully implemented. At the moment I am gathering all the different mimetypes for the different browsers.

Yeah, Firefox rulez!

There is one thing I like to know:

a) Is it better to choose one player for ALL multimedia files and switch (manually) if the player is not capable playing the file?

or

b) Let the users choose their player depending on the file type? E.g.: winamp for mp3, windows media player for movies, flash player for swf and so on.

Is there anyone who wants to assist me deciding the right way?

GOOD QUESTION!

Personally --> @ home I have different players for different media types. Most are for winamp (on Windows) but I use various players in Linux.

For everyone else --> One player with the option to edit the choices. Makes it easier for you on the onset but more difficult in the backend. BUT it makes it easier for the 'customer' (aka everyone who uses the module) all the time.

Just my .25 cents.

make one player for standard first time... they can change manually if they want to one another player.... ;)
